Payments in the amusements sector have undergone a major shift, moving rapidly from coins and tokens to cashless, contactless, and app based systems. This mirrors broader consumer behaviour in the UK and Europe, where digital payments dominate small, spontaneous transactions.
Most amusement machines are pulse driven, meaning when a coin is inserted the machine receives an electrical pulse to start. This electrical pulse can also be from a pulse enabled card payment device. As more amusement-focused cashless payment solutions become more cost effective, more and more operators are adding cashless payment to their machines.
